It's 1998 in the upscale village of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Mark and Julie Jensen seem like a happily married couple, but nothing could be further from the truth. Mark has never forgiven Julie for a brief affair she had seven years into their marriage. And he has turned his attention to another woman — his sexy co-worker, Kelly.
When Mark's behavior becomes suspicious, Julie writes a letter stating that she fears her husband is out to kill her. Although Julie prays she is wrong, her instincts are right. In December of that year, Mark poisons Julie with antifreeze and proceeds to marry his mistress, Kelly. It took nearly ten years to finally convict Mark of the crime. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 2008.
