@saltzman Dude, spoilers!
Great episode, it was very old HIMYM style-y. The story was told by different points-of-views and each of them had its humor, Lily's featuring drunk Robin and stoned Ted being the most hilarious moment of the season. It was a very Lily-centric episode, which was okay, because she didn't at all shine this season thus far. I really hope they show us more SHOW SPOILER of her new job with the captain, I'm looking forward for the ramifications of this totally unexpected path the show's taken. Also, Barney had a break through, or something like it at some point during the episode. He kept pretending he was at the art event with Lily, Ted and Robin just because it was a crazy sort of night, and he was the reason the crazy nights happened with the gang. He clearly stated that Ted had architecture; Marshall, law; Lily, art and Robin has pleasing him sexually. It was a cute and hilarious moment. Also cute was Marshall and Lily's so-called fight. It's impressive how the show has always sustained their image as the perfect couple, because that's what they are. I'm glad that after eight years this isn't ruined. Their complicity is extremely outstanding and Jason and Alyson's work is never straightforward. Robin and Ted were left out on the cold for this episode, except when they were telling the story. It strike me as something weird that no mention to Jeanette was made, but I'm fine with it. Fantastic episode, best of the season in my opinion. So glad we've left those messy episodes of the beginning of the season behind.
