Nostradamus tells Mary of his prophecy that one among them will die soon, which causes Mary to make a decision that will forever change her relationship with Francis. Clarissa becomes bolder with her endeavors, while Kenna informs Catherine of Diane's plan for Bash, which ends up backfiring.

@sethummer yes, I totally agree with you: the background was good, and they could have made a nice winter finale. I understand that they just could not leave Mary and Francis happily together, or they wouldn't have had a good cliffhanger, but this way of doing things was just...nonsense. Besides, really, nobody stands Bash!

The sad and stupid thing is the creators came up with a good background story to tell, tried to make it more like Gossip Girl - ok, it's a teen drama, but really learnt nothing from previous mistakes!
This was so...stupid. It had basically nothing to do with the rest of the season, it felt discontinous. All right with the prophecy, but it is so stupid and lame that Mary would believe it so easily (the death scene actually made me laugh) and that she would leave without any explaination to Fracis, moreover with Bash, who she knows to be Francis' "rival". Awful winter finale...
