The Doctor takes Clara to Nottingham in the 12th century, so that she can see that Robin Hood is merely a legend with no basis in reality. However, when they arrive they discover that Robin is alive and well... and so is the Sheriff of Nottingham, who is conspiring with alien robots to conquer England.

The Doctor x Robin Hood interaction was the best thing EVER
Ahh loved this, I've always been interested in Robin Hood, and this really put a twist on it hehe c:
The banter with the Doctor and Robin Hood in the dungeon has convinced me that Capaldi is capable of Matt Smith-like comedy. That's all I needed, really.
@Sandrosaurus I'm also curious to see where it goes. I don't share the entirety of your opinion, but I can see where you're getting at. We will see what happens.
@Artifex DW for me has always been a campy show. The strange thing about this season is that after 2 'serious' seasons we are getting a more (how must I say this) tuned down season. It feels cheaper (that is not a bad thing) it also feels like a dark comedy sometimes...this series is still finding it feet. Even the doctor is not on point yet...I like him but the other doctors for now are still better...he just surpassed Ecclestone. This season feels like a mixture of a Moffat and a RtD series with a confused doctor... :p I'm curious where it goes...
@Sandrosaurus You know, people always complained about Doctor Who science. But these last few episodes finally made me complain as well. I always saw Doctor Who as a fantasy, not science fiction, but the logical fallacies are sometimes so prominently visible... That's just bad writing. But I am prepared for these fallacies now, so like you said: I had fun with it. But I'm starting to like Doctor Who less (To no fault of Capaldi, he's great.)
I had fun with it...that's the point right?
