I initially supported Netherlands, but seeing how solid the defence of Costa Rica was (compounded with the fact that luck seemed to be on Costa Rica's side), I switched allegiance to Costa Rica. So many of Costa Rica's fouls were committed just outside their penalty box, making the ref giving them free kicks instead of penalty kicks.
Also, it seemed like there was a force field around the Costa Rican goal area, because so many of their "saves" were actually not saves at all, but merely lucky misses.
But eventually, the Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal's decision to substitute the goalkeeper Cillessen with Krul at last minute of Additional Time became the tiebreaker, as Krul indeed became the saviour of the Dutch team.
By the way, this Dutch keeper Krul didn't even play during regular time (nor during additional time) and yet he automatically became the saviour of the Dutch team. If I were a Dutch player and see someone else take credit for what I had played in the first two hours, I probably wouldn't be too happy about it.
Oh well, life is Krul sometimes.
