30 September 1940. The village school is being used as barracks. A cut cable infuriates the Germans who demand that the French police find the person guilty of what they consider to be sabotage. While Jean, De Kervern and Daniel are opposed to a collaboration between the French police and the Germans, Raymond hesitates, as working for the Germans would save him from bankruptcy...
