Their driving mishaps continue when they realize Bessie needs a tune-up, but things start looking up when the friendly mechanic invites them to an exciting dirt track race in a few days' time. In the meantime, the girls are amazed to see the impressive nightly flight of thousands of gray bats over Guntersville Lake, and on a visit to a local shooting range, the girls get to pick their best gun with a little help help from a former military weapons specialist.
