Florence finds herself emotionally involved in a case when a former schoolmate, Esther Monroe, is found dead at the foot of a cliff during a literary festival. The prime suspects for the murder include Sylvie Baptiste, writer of the infamous local novel "The Flame Tree"; her assistant, Patricia Lawrence; and festival organisers Anna and Oliver Wolf.
