Real estate company president Hiyama is murdered while holding a pair of scissors. The crime scene is very similar to that of an unsolved case from 17 years ago. Conan and Okiya believe former candy shop owner Senba who discovered the body is the culprit, but are unable to determine how he brought the weapon inside the annex where the crime took place. Later, Conan and Okiya question the bodyguards standing at the entrance and identify the trick the culprit used to bring the weapon inside.
