いよいよ修哲小との対抗戦が始まった！野球にバレーボールに柔道にと、各種目しのぎを削る中、その勝敗は最終種目であるサッカーの試合結果にゆだねられた。湧きあがる歓声に緊張が走る南葛イレブン。それに対し、余裕な様子で会場に現れた若林は翼に再度1対1の勝負だと宣戦布告をする。若林との勝負だけでなく、試合にも勝つと答えた翼が取った行動は、ゴールに攻め上がるフォワードではなく自陣を守るセンターバックに付くというものだった。
