The steps taken by Maria Armanda Falcão in the face of the no-fault arrest of Tengarrinha. The violence of PIDE interrogations. PIDE does not get the elements for the process to proceed. He is shot and abandoned at the door of a hospital, the clandestine communist José Dias Coelho, married to Margarida Tengarrinha, sister of José Manuel Tengarrinha. Margarida, also in the clandestinity, lives the tragic anguish of this death. A young and passionate poet, Dórdio Guimarães, presents himself for the first time at Natália's house. The military coup in Beja fails, and its leader, Varela Gomes, is seriously injured. Maria Armanda gets bail money and José Manuel Tengarrinha is finally released.
