Our Crew Cab Chevelle is back, and this time it’s getting basic suspension upgrades to go head-to-head on the autocross with Lucky Costa’s ’66 two-door daily driver with an LS, six- speed, and trick suspension. We first built our ’66 Crew Cab in Episode 8, getting the beater running and driving for cheap. This time, we add about $2,700 worth of suspension, wheels, and tires for a total investment in the car of around $5,000. The question is, can middle-of- the-road upgrades to a bottom-of-the-heap four-door sedan make for big fun? Of course! Can it outrun a Chevelle that would probably cost $40,000 to duplicate?
