When Deep Throat points out a news story about a fugitive who apparently drowned, Mulder and Scully cannot see what makes the case special but follow it up anyway. With Deep Throat's insistence, they discover evidence of a secret government project code-named Purity Control, which uses human test subjects and infects them with extraterrestrial DNA. However, the evidence and everyone who has seen it is quickly being eliminated.

The best episode of the first season.
In my opinion this was a mediocre first season. Most of the time it was boring. The show became better beginning with E.B.E. and especially Darkness Falls and the final. Fringe is way better than this.
@illlewis if you stick with it you'll enjoy it more and more as it goes. there are always lame episodes but season four upwards is 90% awesome. im almost done season seven and its still getting better. (ive heard eight and nine suffer but oh well)
First season behind.
It's very cheesy and sometimes just plain ridiculous, but near the end of the season stories becoming more interesting, so does acting. Still in proportions it's 80% snoozefest.
