Dean decides to bargain with Death to get Sam's soul back, and has to accept a wager. Meanwhile, Sam refuses to take the risk of getting his damaged soul back, and prepares to cast a spell to prevent Dean's efforts... a spell that requires the blood of someone who has been like a father to him.

It was very sad indeed. And with Sam and Bobby and all, I really thought Dean was going to have to reap Bobby.
This episode's power is huge. Thrilling and intense, it managed to make me cry about a filler character. The little girl's death was irrationally heart-breaking. Actually, the entire death plot was. I got stunned after watching this because it was a really perfectly paced episode, with Sam's attempts to prevent Dean's efforts, and the older brother's struggles with death and its consequences. Although I must say I thought the episode would end with that big, love-choked Winchester hug.
