Small update on current development status
to @all: I'm still thinking about all of this. I get a flood of 50+ messages each week with comments like "show x is not up to date". If I would fix all of those every day, I would not have time to actually code a fix for the rest.
I started work on the contribution system where our user base can self moderate the data. Including adding new shows / episodes. TheTVDB was a temporary fix for a bigger problem, its not a permanent fix and was never intended to be. It is an intermediate to get at least the most popular shows back up to date with episode numbers and titles.
Currently I'm swamped in a project at work that require me to work late nights for the last couple of weeks. Once we are passed the deadline I will be able to get back on track with fmtv development.

@mrOTHER It's not the same as having a daily or weekly or monthly goal which can be a great way to motivate your members to donate and is rewarding to everyone.
ie A meter could inform us if the hosting cost has been covered for the month.

@Dmpstrbaby I second that. Not sure about a subscription, as would put off a lot of people from joining. But a donation meter, and maybe a bit of info on what finances you need and showing what it goes to or something?
The idea to let people help add info or episodes and shows I'm very interested in. Even if it was just to submit the info, show name, series and episode numbers, and a little info either on the season or season and each episode. Then you can create the links and just copy and paste or something, I'd very happy to submit things like that.

You need to put up a donation meter or maybe create a "membership" option. I know I'd give some cash to keep this place running. I very much appreciate the lack of advertisement which is very rare these days on the web but you shouldn't shy away from allowing the people to give something in exchange for your time and work and maybe, if not to make it lucrative, to give it a chance to thrive.
