Introducing the new contribute system
Hi Awesome Community,
We are stoked to announce that we've released our first version of the new contribute section. You will now be able to report shows that are missing in our database. This brand new section can be found on followmy.tv/contribute. We are looking forward to adding all those missing TV shows to fuel everyone's couch potato lifestyle! :D
This is our first step towards moving followmy.tv to a more community driven database. We believe that having our own data in the future is the way forward to prevent data loss.
Small update: There is a bug with oreign language shows and shows without airdates that prevents them from being imported. We are working on a fix for these. In the meantime, those shows are kept in pending review until the bug is fixed. Our apologies for this inconvenience!

@janp Don't worry about that. No staff come on here. At least you are helping people out and responding to their questions.
@janp
"To any of the staff reading this, i'm only responding here because the conversation involved TVmaze. I'll be stopping now."
what staff lol, infact I encourage you to continue to post about TVMaze and if any "staff" contacts you to stop then let us know who so we know who's ignoring
If you want to make a backup of your shows then best to do it now. Once the importer breaks, we won't be fixing it anymore.
The importer can be found here: http://www.tvmaze.com/migrate/followmytv
@rentmeister has already tested and confirmed that it's working. Thank you for that. :)

best,

@kakature @saxo @forgotmylines
@janp Thank you for the response. I remember you guys being good with feedback etc. I will have another look at your site.
@janp
TVMaze does a good job listening to user feedback for sure, something this site doesn't do. Just not a fan of the layout and simplicity personally.
Wasn't a fan of putting some user suggested stuff behind a paywall but I guess you gotta make money so I see why, I'm just not a huge fan of that. IMO basic features should be available to all, but you have stuff like weekly calendar locked behind it.
Edit: Btw you said FMTV was fixed, I disagree, it was half assed and essentially patched a hole in the boat to prevent it from sinking rather than properly repairing it. It is better than it was but episodes still don't show up a lot of the time and such.

@Gaceru me too! It is easier to use TV Time on gadget, but I am not complaining.
Where can I find this FMTV importer on TVMaze?
@rentmeister every time changes are made to fmtv in the back-end, the script breaks at our end. We already fixed it a couple of times because some people were asking for it. The importer was made a while back to help users back up their shows. This was when it looked as if fmtv wasn't going to get fixed.(which it did). The importer was only meant as a temporary tool.
@janp
Thanks for your quick response and feedback! :)
May I ask, just out of curiosity, why the importer is that much work? I would think that it's a script that runs automatically and doesn't need any kind of updates because this site doesn't change, but apparently that's not how it works?
@Saxo @ForgotMylines @rentmeister - we are in constant development based on user requests. So constructive feedback is welcome.
Regarding the importer. Rentmeister asked about getting it working again on our forums and we'll have a look at it.
Coincidentally we were talking about taking the importer down a couple of days ago. It's too much work to keep it working. After this fix, it's not staying up that long anymore. So if you wish to create a backup of your shows, this is your last chance.
I use TVTime and I think is pretty good.
@Saxo I joined TVmaze a year or so ago, used it for a week or so. Didn't really like it. Not logged in for nearly a year.
Yep, my thoughts on the add exactly. Takes the piss.
@forgotmylines @rentmeister @kakature
tvmaze has a followmytv importer to take all your data with you. I don't think the site is as good though but I've been keeping both up to date
agree about the ads, they have time to spam the site with ads but not to give a single update on it, leaves a bad taste in my mouth
No unfortunately I don't have permissions to give someone else admin rights or something.
I tried Trakt a year or so ago and it's not that good imo. FMTV is great because it's simple, would love a good replacement.
Also, I agree the ad is in really bad taste.
@rentmeister It would need to allow you to transfer this data across. I'm not going through all this again. I'd rather just stop using these kind of sites, than go through logging all this from scratch.
@kakature Do you have full access? If the developers aren't responding anymore, maybe you could give someone else an admin account who could fix some problems?
(I'm prepared to give it a go, but I'm not overly confident I can make enough sense of it right away.)
@ForgotMyLines I was thinking the same thing, ForgotMyLines.
Looking for a better alternative: there are 2 sites that got my attention, Trakt.tv and watched.li.
Trakt doesn't seem to have the same option of following a show like we have here, or maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way??
Someone who has suggestions or advice? :)
"Vote for Citrusbyte @ SXSW"
What's all that about?! There is no information. Just "Vote for us". What for?! Are we now getting spam on this corpse of a site?
Lemon's last login was Apr 15, 2017. So.. yeah.
@kakature Hey, can you add the show "Midnight, Texas"? (http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=311904&lid=7) I've tried to add it several times and it always comes back with "submitted and pending review." Also, if it's possible, can the show "Odd Mom Out" be updated? (http://followmy.tv/shows/42203/Odd_Mom_Out) There are new episodes airing right now, but it hasn't been updated since 2015. I would appreciate if you could fix both. Sorry for bothering you and thank you for what you're doing here.
