Vuurzee is a psychological thriller of the VARA whose first season between November 26, 2005 and February 18, 2006 was broadcast every Saturday at 21:00 hours on Nederland 3 (except December 31, 2005). The series is often compared with the series Twin Peaks. The VARA was previously responsible for series such as Unit 13, Bureau Kruislaan and 12 cities, 13 accidents. Vuurzee intended to get the same quality as AVRO series as Argument and Old Money. The second season started on January 31, 2009.
