Bleach has its issues (even a rabid fanboy like myself can admit that). However, if you're looking for a brain-free shonen romp, you won't do much better.
Skip the filler seasons! The manga story is pretty good! Watch season: 1,2,3,6,7,8,10,11,12,14,16,...
First 63 episodes (3 seasons) are amazing. Well, at least for this anime genre. The rest is piece of crap for the most time, whose few good (even very good) episodes won't save the show.
