Awesome. Thanks for the recommendation by the way. FMA has been fantastic. So does Brotherhood start the same and then take a completely different route? If the stories are similar, I might have to put it off for a little while
Oh, when you finished FMA, make sure you watch the movie, Conqueror of Shambala. It's pretty much essential to the ending of the series. Then start fresh with Brotherhood.
After the FMAs I'm going to say watch Steins;Gate just because that's the recent popular trend around these parts. But yeah, you have a lot of damn good anime to look forward to.
@Zelos: Yeah definitely. I think I'm going to watch another season of Castle after FMA, but Brotherhood will be my next anime. This untapped world of anime is exciting. I'm not gonna lie. I was always one of those "I don't watch that Naruto crap" guys, but I am much more open minded now
Fullmetal Alchemist is one that a lot of people can easily get interested in. It's a story about two brothers that live in a world that vaguely represents early 20th century, except a form of science called alchemy is the dominant technology. Alchemy is capable of doing many amazing things, but there are some taboos. One taboo is against the creation of life, or resurrection of deceased people. As very young boys, Edward and Alphonse Elric attempted to revive their mother. Ed lost an arm and a leg; Al lost his entire body, and only survives as Ed was able to bind his soul to a suit of armour. The series follows their attempt to find a way to restore their bodies, and along the way they battle corrupt alchemists and other forces of evil.
It's a great blend of comedy, action and drama, and definitely fits into the action-adventure category a lot better than others. Start with Fullmetal Alchemist, as it was the first adaptation produced and goes into more detail in the first 30 or so episodes. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood was produced much later, and whilst it follows the same story early on, it later starts to adapt the manga a lot more closely.
I hope someone sees this in their "What's happening" feed bc I don't feel like making a topic on gamefaqs. I need a good anime, fellas. Something very accessible since this will be my first anime outside of Dragonball/Z. I'm thinking about Cowboy Bebop unless someone has something else

<----- me when I saw Breaking Bad on my episode feed
The first 13 episodes are a more rushed version of the first 30 or so episodes of FMA, and the next 50 episodes are its own separate thing entirely.

And be sure to watch it's alternate version, Brotherhood, after. They're both amazing and accessible to newcomers.
That sounds like something I can get into. I'll give it a shot

Cowboy Bebop is usually considered by many people, my self included, to be the best anime of all time. Even people who don't like anime love it.
Alright thanks man. I'm open to just about anything. What's a good action-adventure for starters?
Dave's here to help! What are you after? Action, thriller, drama, romance? Sci-fi or fantasy, magic or tech, plot or characters?
