Emily returns to Southampton and rents the seaside home she shared with her father, David Clarke (James Tupper), 17 years ago. With the help of her only friend, Ashley, she sets her sites on her first target, and puts her carefully organized plan in motion. Her focus unexpectedly wavers when she comes across Jack, a friendly face from the past, makes a new romantic connection with the son of her sworn enemy, and is pushed into an uneasy alliance with the only person who knows her secret.

She was in a mental hospital for children at first. She was later sent to juvenile detention (I think because of something that occurred in the hospital) and was released from juvie at age 18.

@b0sse it wasnt jail, i think certain traumatic experiences that are later revealed left her in need of the care of a mental hospital for young kids
Hmm, so when she was an 8 year old kid and her father was arrested, they took her to jail as well? In a flashback at the end, she was released from jail and she told Nolan that she hadnt seen her father for 10 years, and it was also established that she was 18 at the time. So they want me to believe that an 8 year old girl was thrown in jail for something her father did? Or did I miss something? I don't get it.
@Lemon I agree, didn't expect this. It's way better than expected. Hope that the next episodes are as good as the pilot.

Not bad, but not great either. I guess with that kind of story they need to lay out some foundation for the rest of the season... so wait & see.
