While investigating two bizarre murders, Sam and Dean realize there is an eyewitness to both gruesome deaths - a German Sheppard. Anxious to find out if they are dealing with a witch, a skinwalker or other supernatural monster, the guys look up a spell that could let Dean "communicate" with the dog. Unfortunately, the spell comes with side effects that no one saw coming.

Very funny!
@az25 I've been watching since season 1, and I have to say, even the actors were sort of annoyed with this episode. I have no problem with campy, this was just poorly executed. They could have done this much better. The best example is the episode when they're sent into the TV realm and they're acting themselves in real life being bad at acting. That's the sort of thing I can get behind.
I take no issue with the show's roots, but I also think it's gone far beyond them. With only a season and a half until the proposed ending date (reported to end with S10, anyway), I just want to see the heavy themes good storylines hit fast and hard.
Sam and Dean are practically unstoppable at this point- why should they be bothered with generic hunting tasks, when they've saved the world on numerous occasions?
Hiarious episode! Loved it. Supernatural has great fillers. In previous seasons they far too often only focused on the main arc, which kinda ruined the show for me, because it started out as stand-alone episodes with one arc covering it al. Fillers remind me of why these two guys are awesome.
Homeward Bound: The Supernatural (but kinda stupid) Story! (***) Still 3 stars because i'm a sucker for talking animals... :p
That's their second hommage to Game of Thrones in a row! The creators must really love it, and who can blame them? Now on to watch the rest of this episode, and fuck you spoiler guys under my post! There's a code for that: [spoiler ] your message here [/ spoiler] (remove the space between the [ ] )
@Zantanimus Too ... campy? We've been watching the same show since season 5, right? This is kind of what they do, it wasn't that bad. Why is it okay for Once Upon a Time and Grimm to be utterly ridiculous with blutbotts and cgi animals or whatever, but Supernatural tries something truly supernatural (instead of the usual usage of humans as conduits of the demons, etc.) and it's too crazy?!?! Okay. This show has had 3-4 straight up campy episodes every year.
Verifiably one of the worst episodes in a long time. Too campy, too moronic, and if they honestly retouch on 'dog's secret purpose' again, instead of it being a joke, I may be a bit annoyed. We have angels to worry about- make like last season and stop faffing about in the typical monster of the week episode.
