@MrBouwmeester It begun as gender specific but it has been turning into a gender neutral word, much as the word author as, with the idea of applying it solely to males becoming obsolete.
Not to mention how 'master' is not simply a form of address, but also someone who excels at a certain field or who controls someone else and I would argue the Master prefers those meanings, even if I can only guess.

yes, it is gender-specific.
Moffat is gross. Who gave him the permission to play around with the afterlife like that? Moffat is a gross and sexist and must have sexual assault in every single episode he writes.
Honestly, how the hell is he still writing? I'm not sure I get what happened in that 'afterlife' but the idea that people can still feel, the utter disrespect towards someone who has passed away is beyond, even for Moffat standards. There's stuff you need to be very careful when you mess with it, death is one of them. Death is actually real, it's actually something that happens in this world and it causes real grief and you can't just go get someone back from the dead. I don't know if Moffat understands but there are real people watching this, and those real people are bound to have lost someone and to see it being played like this… To have death be downloading their entire person and converting them into cybermen? What the fuck is Moffat on??
Oh and weeee, of course that 'Master' is a totally gender-specific word and there's /NO WAY/ it could still be used when referring to a female body. Oh, why would you? I mean, 'Mistress' totally has the same implications and connotations nowadays as 'Master'— Oh wait, it doesn't.
I don't want to process this and that's quite a new scenario for me. I don't want to know how it was supposed to happen, how is Moffat getting around his stupid rules, why he suddenly gives a damn about time paradoxes cause Clara and… I just want him to stop. I want someone to finally take him away from DW and find a new showrunner who'll use Capaldi as he deserves to be used. Or, as Moffat would put it, as he's '''owed'''.
Clara's way of acting in the beginning of the episode was really cool, except for the part I really don't care about Danny so all I could think of was "meh".
And I honestly don't care SHOW SPOILER about this kid Danny got killed. Hope it doesn't get a major participation in the season finale.
The last minutes gave me a little taste of what Doctor Who used to be. The good ol' David Tennant and Matt Smith days. Nonetheless, Missy SHOW SPOILER being the Master was something I had no clue about - a very good plot twist, in my opinion.
Hope the next episode is better than this one; I wouldn't want this poorly written season to end in a horrible way, making it the worst season ever.
It was clear from the start that Missy was the Master. I enjoyed the creepy vibe as well. Too bad it wasn't real.
Liked the creepy tone...starting to like the doctor...still dislike Danny and it was a pity they used the cybermen again...but the new master is kinda cool...so a 4 :D
