Supernanny says you should praise the child for eating when they're a picky eater, but when I was a child I would get very angry about that. It felt to me like mockery, like they were sarcastically praising me for doing nothing interesting, while to me it was a big deal to taste things. I don't think they were actually mocking me, at least not my mother, but I still would get mad. Seeing these kids smile while being praised makes me wonder why that didn't work for me.
