The children's hiding spot in the forbidden swamp is discovered by the hermit they met while passing through his cave under the volcano to get to the other side of the Island when Aaron ran off to find Jason in episode 4. Very sick, the children nurse him until he feels strong enough to go. Then the hermit is caught by the Prime Minister - who demands the hermit takes him to them.
