Skinner destroys evidence to cover up a woman's death and poses as Agent Mulder to complete the task. Mulder finds out about Skinner's deception and confronts him, and Skinner reveals that he is working for the Cigarette-Smoking Man in order to obtain a possible cure for Scully's cancer.

I like Pileggi in this a lot but the pacing is bad. and it kills a bunch of children off-hand which is weird (and why did they sick the bees on them anyway???). But mostly, like a lot of mythology episodes, it mainly leaves me wondering how the Syndicate has been able to operate successfully for so long when they're so thoroughly incompetent. Like, if the Gray-Haired Man doesn't kill that one detective then Skinner's clean-up works and Mulder never catches on. Or if they were going to have a guy follow Skinner the whole time and do anything he didn't do, why not just have that guy do everything?
