Long extinct creatures are tearing through a series of rips in time, and the seemingly impossible becomes a terrifying reality. Professor Nick Cutter and his research team are recruited by the government to investigate a series of dinosaur sightings and struggle to find answers.
With the help of zoologist Abby Maitland, his research assistant Stephen Hardy and student palaeontologist Connor Temple, they try to uncover the secrets of the temporal anomalies. As the prehistoric investigation intensifies, Cutter begins to suspect that these events and the disappearance of his wife eight years ago are somehow linked.

Any news about season six?
There is going to be a season six guys just not until next year (:
It's just series five on another channel. There is very little hope for series six even though I want it to happen as well.
They say season 6 will air its first episode this Saturday. But there are others who say it is season 5 which is airing this saturday. Which of both is true?
Any news about season 6?
Just finished watching Season 5, and it was great. Best season so far, easily. This completely makes up for s04 being a snooze-fest. Can't wait for s06.
@ColeFrost
Really? I thought the first seasons were much better. Can't remember exactly which ones exactly I liked best (think it was s01 and s02, or maybe s02 and s03). But s04 was completely horrendous. I could barely stomach watching it to the end :( Haven't watched s05 yet, so can't comment on it.
@ColeFrost Thanks! Dinosaurs are pretty badass..
No-one can resist. :D
@oranges
The show starts off good, but a mess. Basically they go all over storywise, they have trouble maintaining their cast, and they struggle to finish anything they start.
It slowly works out the kinks. The funny thing is that I consider this to easily be among the worst handled shows ever, yet I still really like it. I don't know why, but I do.
The show is loaded with fine looking women who can act (My favorites are Lucy Brown, Ruth Bradley, and Ruth Kearney (All really classy and enjoyable)), it handles the science stuff fairly well, and Ben Miller is fall out of your seat funny with his sarcasm. It has other good things about it too.
It wouldn't be my first choice of shows, but, it is worth watching.
@ColeFrost You mindreader-man! Last week I almost asked you what you thought of this.
Season 2 premiere reviews put me off it though.
I might reconsider this one.
The show was a mess, storyline wise, for the first few series (Seasons in America). The last two were really good though... They had a main storyline and aimed to complete it, rather than going all over the place and writing characters off left and right.
It has been a good show since day 1, but I, without a doubt, like it more now.
Why the hell did they downgrade Primeval from 720p HDTV, to lousy PDTV? Last season was glorious 720p, and now PDTV?
Primeval will return on 24 May ( Watch ). 6 episodes.
