The animals of Farthingwood are driven out of their home, the forest, by humans who want to destroy the forest and build their own version of a habitat. The toad, however, knows the way to a wildlife resort, the "White Deer Parc" and the animals set out to go there and find a new home. They swear an oath that during their journey, none of them will eat/attack another. But they soon have to realize that the world outside the safety of their forest is anything but friendly and nobody knows how many will make the journey. And if they do arrive at the White Deer Parc, who says they will be welcome?
