Emmy Award nominated TWO AND A HALF MEN has been the Number One-rated sitcom on television for the past four seasons. It's a comedy about men, women, sex, dating, divorce, mothers, single parenthood, sibling relations, surrogate families, money and, most importantly, love. More specifically, it's about the lives of two brothers, one brother's son, and the many women who surround them. Charlie Harper is a well-to-do bachelor with a house at the beach, a Mercedes in the garage and an easy way with women. His casual Malibu lifestyle was interrupted when his tightly wound brother, Alan, and Alan's son, Jake, came to stay with him. Complicating matters further are Charlie and Alan's narcissistic, emotionally toxic mother, Evelyn; Alan's deeply neurotic ex-wife, Judith and Charlie's domineering, unapologetically blue-collar housekeeper, Berta. Despite the complexities of their lives and their own strained relationship, Charlie and Alan have one thing in common - they both love Jake and want what's best for him. As a result, they manage to create a little family unit that promises to make each of them a better man.

The show fell flat without Charlie imo, too bad
It seems like the audience is on some sort of laughing dope. My lord, its not that hilarious and actually I think that the performance of Ashton is just plainly poor.
Those jokes on funeral, Walden meeting housekeeper and Zune joke were absolutelly hilarious! Almost died laughing...
After seeing the first episode of the ninth season, I think it's as great as it was so far. It was hilarious!
Just watched the first episode of the new season, and I think it has a decent shot at becoming interesting again. I think that the "Charlie Sheen" character won't be missed that much.
I really think Alan is the best actor in this show.
That being said, I agree that the synergy will most likely be gone and it just won't feel right.
This is gonna suck with Ashton... That's what I think. The show is based on Charlie...

I'm not a big fan of Ashton Kutcher, I think overall he lacks talent, but he was fucking brilliant as Kelso in That 70's Show so if they give him a character along those lines I have no doubt it'll be entertaining. It won't be the same without Charlie Sheen but it could still be alright.
It looks like they offered the lead to Hugh Grant and he turned it down. Not long after, out of nowhere, Ashton Kutcher signed on as the new lead. I'm not joking, even though it sounds like it.

I'm actually behind this. He was my favorite part of That 70's Show since he stayed in character non stop and was actually funny his whole run on the show. His movies haven't been great, but he is a decent actor and can be funny.

With renewals for shows closing in, I figured I would just write here that it is likely that this comes back, but with a new character/actor in the lead as the most likely approach.

Actually suspended indefinitely. Last week episode might have been the series finale... oh well, Season 8 wasn't that great anymore anyway.
