@hempo22 Thank you. That seems to be right, episode 9 was the last one. Such a shame...
@ThyCaptain Probably not since season 2 was already in the works when they pulled the plug. It will most likely end with tons of unanswered questions.
Will they at least give it a proper ending?
Real shame, this was turning into one of my favourite shows.
@oranges :p
@Woutah Quicker than me :P
BREAKING FROM HBO: "It is with heartbreak that executive producers David Milch and Michael Mann together with HBO have decided to cease all future production on the series LUCK." Show halts following the third death of a horse on set.
After 5 episodes, I have the feeling it is going to be good show but somehow I don't understand anything. I know theres a horse, some Jockey, some guys that own a horse, then there's this big shot criminal who just got out of jail ... but thats about it.
Halfway thru episode 5 I noticed how I wasn't even paying attention anymore so might aswell not look at all.

Seen the first 3 episodes. What do you guys think of it? I think its good but not a lot has happened so far.
@Tante
I have seen the first episode now and I think you're somewhat right. It was all very hazy. I liked the pilot, but I didn't understand 75 % of it. They jump right in, without any charachter introduction.
But seeing as this is an HBO show, it's not uncommon. Even though I didn't understand most of it, I'll just keep watching a few episodes until I know most of the characters. This will probably take a while but I have no problem with that.
already renewed for a 2nd season by HBO
Good pilot, but missing the introductions of the people.
@ThibaultDC
Thanks Thibault ;)
@BertDenolf It seems to him that Luck might be an interesting TV Show. We might have to be patient during the first episodes of it, because HBO tends to go fairly slow at the start of their shows in order to introduce the characters, like we saw in Game of Thrones. He especially likes the parts of the "ordinary" people, such as jockeys, trainers and gamblers.
Atleast that's what I got from it :)
@jmef
The fuck is this
@kakature I do admit that a series has to draw me in with -something-, even if it is just the first episode. Whether that is a character that I happen to like and/or identify with, a theme that I find fascinating, a premise that I find amusing... Something. This one just didn't give me any of that except maybe for an interesting premise that, however, does not fascinate me enough in order to continue watching.
Sorry, I just don't like shows that leave the viewer completely in the dark just for the heck of it, and this one gives me that impression... I was just bored/annoyed/confused. One could argue that this show is just too intelligent for me (as many argue similarly in defense of other shows with labyrinthean plot lines) and I would say fine, that is your opinion. Great for you if you love the show already and get it... I just don't. :-/
@Tante How can you say that after 1 episode?
I wanted to like this, if only for the great cast they somehow got for it. A lot of characters are briefly shown but barely (or not at all) introduced to us, the viewer is sometimes just rushed into the middle of conversations that seem filled with betting lingo that I couldn't even start to decipher. I had hoped that this series would be an introduction into this 'scene' with all its intricacies and oddities, but instead this seems to be another one of these series I loathe: A series that is vague/mysterious/complicated simply for the sake of being just that... Instead of providing an actual coherent plot or characters that you care for and want to know what happens to them.
(Lost was like that - so if you liked Lost, this one might be for you)
So... A no for me, unfortunately.

Doesn't look too exiting, but that doesn't mean anything with HBO.
