"Those Who Kill" is a Danish format based on the bestselling work of author Elsebeth Egholm. A&E has secured the U.S. format for the critically acclaimed crime series in Denmark. The series is about violent criminals who are surrounded by fear and mystique- the serial killer. When murders are not grounded in traditional motives and patterns of behavior, it takes a very particular kind of person to catch the serial killer; someone who knows and understands the killer's dark side and the fantasies that plague him. Someone like the two lead characters- a police detective that is trying to understand her own mysterious personal connection in to the mind of a serial killer, and a "profiler" (forensic psychiatrist), who both in very different ways possess a deep psychological understanding that connects them to the killer's victims and to the killer himself, driving them to pursue each case to the end of the line, again and again.

I so hope that this is getting renewed, but I doubt it very much that it will.
@killmotion I agree, it was just bad timing and too big of a competition.
@Baltimore It's burning off on Sunday nights on Lifetime but that's pretty uncommon for a cable show to be deemed doing so poorly it's pulled. And it was paired with the popular Bates Motel, too.

Den som dræber is a Danish crime show I really liked and was curious how the American remake would turn out. After seeing how disastrous all the other American remakes of Danish crime shows were I was afraid this one would end up the same way.
So I wasn't planning in watching this until I heard Chloë Sevigny would play the main part, I really liked her performance in Hit & Miss so my hopes went up again. Only to be disappointed after watching the first two episodes.
It does not compare to the Danish series, except for the very similar script. The psychologist is totally unbelievable and Chloë completely over does this part. Nothing of it feels gritty and real. The American version is overdone in all aspects and comes off as cheesy and embarrassing.
