Oh! And Baccano! Definitely check that one out, it's terrific non-linear story telling.

Okay, definitely check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. It's possibly better than the original.

Steins;Gate is fantastic, one of my favourite series of all time. Highly worth a look. Interesting enough at first but later on it just becomes an exceptional show.

Death Note. This is another regarded as the best, and for good reason too. It's a great thriller type with lots of twists and turns.

Cowboy Bebop - another classic. Fans of Samurai Champloo should definitely enjoy.

Elfen Lied - been a while since I've seen this, but pretty brutal and fascinating series.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Fantastic. One of the best for my mind, can be unsettling and definitely unique.

Gungrave: a personal favourite. Mafia-esque for the first half, great action show for the second part.

That's just about it for must sees. A few others are pretty fun but not definites, IMO (like Code Geass or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann).

Well, 16 episodes so far has covered the first 35 of the original. It's a lot tighter, but I'll probably have to check back later as I don't really remember a lot of the Saiyan Saga from the original. It basically removes a lot of filler, though there are still a few bits which should've been tightened up more. For example, Gohan and Krillin leave the fight with Vegeta and spend two episodes flying away with the occasional cut back to them making a comment on the power levels, and then they spend two episodes flying back to rejoin the fight.

On the other hand, a lot of the training material was cut from after Raditz' death and to Vegeta/Nappa's arrival. Gohan and Piccolo's training is mostly off screen, just the one episode of them actually fighting/training. Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu and Yajirobe appear for about 30 seconds before going to fight the Saiyans, so they're not really properly introduced at all before they're being killed off.

There does feel like there's progress in the contests every episode, though. But I really remember later episodes being more drawn out than the earlier stuff.

@Renegade412 How does kai compare to old DBZ? I always remember watching it on toonami and some episodes were nothing but staring contests. After watching DB I liked it more then DBZ. I still need to watch GT sometime.

@TheZombiePirate thats fine. I haven't really been on GameFaqs that much in a while. I have posted a few things pertaining to video games, but I haven't visited the TV boards or any boards that deal with a certain show (Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc.). But I don't mind having someone else on my list.

@likwidsolutions I think I seen your profile on gamefaqs and seen you watched a lot of same shows. Sorry for not messaging you before adding you.
