I felt Season 2 was a bit of a drop in quality (still great, though), but it's just uphill from there.
Season 4 is one of the best seasons of tv ever.
Season 2 is considerably better, season 3 is slower and a little stifling (by design), season 4 is the damn best, and season 5 is really good.
the detestable ones, and all of their subplots and self-interests are ceaselessly enthralling. Basically, this show is great.
