Kind of a retread of "Revelations" from season 3, this time with an attempt to draw pathos from Scully's maternal backstory added in "Christmas Carol/Emily". I love that two-parter, but drawing from that well and the Scully's faith well at the same time is still a retread.

I feel like we've seen this concept before, but at least that doesn't ruin the episode as a whole.
