Solitary is a reality show on the Fox Reality Channel whose contestants were kept in solitary confinement.
The show calls itself a "social experiment" in determining the physical and mental endurance of the competitors.
The show's theme is based on solitary confinement; accordingly, the contestants are placed in isolated pods, with only an artificial intelligence named Val to communicate with. In reality, Val's voice is a computer-modified human voice.

Every episode the contestants have to do an endurance test, the first one to give up goes home. They don't know when someone else quits so they all push to their own limits.
The tests are pretty rough and combined with sleep deprivation and constant lockup in a very small cabin, it's pretty crazy what these people are going through.
What is it about?
This show is amazing, surprised I never heard about it before.
