Battlestar Galactica is a critically acclaimed and award winning re-imagining of the original 1970s series of the same name. This new version picks up some characters and mythological aspects of the original, but differs radically in approach. Instead of the original's family-friendly escapism, this new series is darker, using its concept to reflect a post-9/11 world and made relevant to modern times, as well as exploring issues such as the nature of faith and what it means to be human. The show strays from conventional science fiction in that it does not focus on a variety of aliens or showcase technical devices or get bogged down by technobabble. The shows takes a more realistic approach in which space is mostly empty, planets are not always habitable, things break down, resources are finite, and people are not perfect; the "good guys" are not always heroic and the villains can garner sympathy.

Such a great show...
Just rewatching this fantastic show, just a pity that Sy Fy seem to have completly given up on making cutting edge science fiction shows in recent years.

The best show ever. Cant say more about it. Doubt even the future will bring a show that could get close to it.
I'm also watching the last season, slowly don't want it to end to quickly...

Loved this both times I watched it front to back. "The Plan" was even good, if only to fill in some blanks. This is what Star Trek: Voyager could have been had it not been so clean. (I loved that show, too, but watching BSG made me realise how sanitary Star Trek is. Even Babylon 5, Star Wars, and Firefly, which are, by contrast, not sanitary, are clean by comparison.)
This is one of my favorite shows! I loved every minute of every season! The end was magical and I'm sad to see that all of it has come to an end! Big thumbs up for the makers and actors! Loved William Adama and Kara Thrace! My 2 favorite characters in this series! loved it so much! <3
