American Horror Story is a dramatic television series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The story focuses on a family that moves to a house Los Angeles, unaware that it is haunted.
The father, Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott), is trying to deal with his wife's rejection after he has an affair with a student, and soon falls under the house's sway. Meanwhile, the wife, Vivien (Connie Britton), must not only try to forgive her husband but deal with the aftereffects of a miscarriage. The daughter, Violet (Taissa Farmiga), is confronted with hostile girls at her new school and befriends her father's disturbed teenage patient, Tate Langdon (Evan Peters). Lurking nearby is the neighbor, Constance (Jessica Lange), a former actress who both hates and is oddly protective of her special-needs daughter, Adelaide (Jamie Brewer), who can sense the house's evil.

@Aversie Yeah, ghosts that can't leave a house and can't really do anything raising a baby... That'll make for compelling television.
I've hardly ever seen anything on television that scared me, but a lot about this show's second season is very disturbing. The aversion therapy scene comes to mind, or the human-skin lamp, the mutilated people... Yeah, this is definitely horror stuff. And I know plenty of people who prefer not to watch this show alone or late at night.
@Bmvc1 It still is for a lot of people... I mean, there are tons of watchers that wanna know what will happen with the kid.
@Aversie No. I'm sure there are plenty of people who find it scary. It is definitely creepy and disturbing at times. And season 1 does not end in a cliffhanger. It was known by that point that each season would be separate, stand alone stories.
@Bmvc1 Fail horror..
@Aversie It doesn't really scare me, but it is definitely in the horror genre.
@Bmvc1 I'm very serious... You really think this is a scary show?
@Aversie Not sure if you are being serious?
Not scary at all, not worthy the name "horror" in my opinion. Also the first seasons ending would let you to believe its a cliffhanger, but nope.. its just done?
So far this second season is so much better than the first one. I couldn't give more than 3 out of 5 to any episode before, but now almost everything is awesome. Jessica Lange is sooo amazing, she deserves all the awards! Lily Rabe also surprised me, because in the first season her character was so poor and now she has space to show us she is a great actress too. Besides, now Zachary Quinto will finally shine in the show. I'm so excited.
