In Penny Dreadful, some of literature's most famously terrifying characters - including Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray and iconic figures from the novel Dracula - become embroiled in Victorian London. The series weaves together these classic horror origin stories as the characters grapple with their monstrous alienation. This project marks Logan and Mendes' second major collaboration, following Skyfall, their recent critically-acclaimed and box office record-breaking James Bond film, which Mendes directed and Logan co-wrote; and their first ever collaboration for television. The project will be produced by Mendes' production company Neal Street Productions.

Incredible, magnificent story. Definitely worth watching, if only for the deep character developments and depiction of the relationships, supported by great performances. The plots are not very originals in either seasons, granted, but then again, the beauty of art is recreating endlessly new ways of telling the same stories. This show definitely succeeds.

This show is fantastic, don't know why people are not following the plot, and character development...definitely seems like user error to me.

I don't know why there's so many bad comments. The pilot wasn't the best, but it was enough to keep me interested for a second and third episodes, which got me completely hooked - which is also not easy. I barely ever binge watch TV series asides from the 20min ones (because what's another 20min?) but I couldn't stop watching this once I started and I'm not even finished with the season. A bit random at points, but all quite good nonetheless.
Disappointed with this show they could done much better job with the story line this was just to random and nothing interesting hapend this could only be good and somehow understand if they mind was set on making first season something like too long induction in to the show.
Pretty damn terrible. Was bored to death after the first 2 epsiodes.

Eva Green and Timothy Dalton are really rising the quality of this series. The plot seems a bit pointless till now, but maybe in the next few episodes there will a plot twist or anyway a better development of the trama.

Show promises a lot for now. Has good cast nice effects interesting storyline, scary moments. I thik it is very good for now... I am talking about the pilot now i will see second episode... :-D
