The Blue Mountains in NSW are a drawcard for artistic types, many of whom have eclectic tastes. But there’s eclectic and then there’s eccentric...and with this market also trying to appeal to families relocating from Sydney’s Western suburbs, anything too unconventional is going to have a hard time selling. And unconventional is certainly one way of describing woodwork enthusiast Bob Mitchell’s house overlooking the bush in the village of Yellow Rock. The Gingerbread House is the term that springs to Andrew’s mind....as he steps into this home straight from a Grimms fairytale! The team’s challenge is to broaden the home’s appeal while retaining the key elements that give it such unique character. As Bob says, “It would be bloody great to pick the old girl up, tart her up and dress her up nicely. She deserves it!”
