A group of Swedes leaves the snow and ice of the Scandinavian winter for the warm, sandy beaches of Thailand, hoping to embark on a life-changing adventure and make a fresh start. The long-suffering wife of an abusive ex-pilot longs for the chance to be treated with dignity, while a corpulent, lonely engineer hopes to marry a young Thai woman and start a family with her.
