Diamond Tiara wants Ponyville's school newspaper to be more exciting, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders are still after their cutie marks. To satisfy both sides, the Crusaders become an anonymous gossip columnist, known as "Gabby Gums", to find the best news. Their popularity soon becomes sour when Diamond Tiara makes them write untruths. Rarity soon finds the truth behind Gabby Gums, and the Crusaders are shunned by everyone in town. When they try to back out of writing more gossip, Diamond Tiara threatens to publish embarrassing photos of the three. They come up with a plan, and write an apology letter to town, giving it to Diamond Tiara to publish at the deadline. The other ponies in town accept the apology, while Diamond Tiara is demoted as editor.
