In the premiere of this drama set at a cable-news network, popular "News Night" anchor Will McAvoy returns to work after a public meltdown to find most of his staff has jumped ship, but new hires help steer the show when news of a catastrophe breaks in the spring of 2010.

pretty exciting pilot, indeed.
I've been waiting for something sort of like The West Wing since the 4th time I went through all 7 seasons. What an excellent pilot! Also, the BP oil spill was a great story to use as well, because I do remember that every news network was more obsessed with that damned iPhone prototype that was left in a bar, rather than what was going on down in Louisiana.
Great show. Lets wait for the next episode.
