Led Zeppelin's song and the Harrison Ford bit make my rating one point higher. Still garbage, though. I'm happy to get this show outta my way ;P
So... I think it was a "Thank You" 4 watching this... 7 years... Overall I LOVED IT! Cannot believe it's over...
P.S. But yes, I was just waiting 4 "Bill 2 become human again and they live happily ever after"... like some said here...
Let me just get this out of the way: ADELE STACKHOUSE!!!!! (Also, Steve <3)
I sort of liked it. Even though he's no longer doing True Blood it was sorta Alan Ball with the megawrapup at the end.
For a while I was also fooled into thinking Sookie's magical ball of light was going to cure him. Since the disease was making him more human, I figured it'd kill the vampire part of him and he'd come out with only his regained humanity. Guess I was wrong.
I like how they wrapped things up. It's what I expected from an Alan Ball show and I'm sure he had input in this as it was very similar to other shows he's done. Almost everything he does is wrapped up in a way that makes you feel comfortable with how it ended instead of in an big void of doubt.
The only thing that's a bit of a shame is that it feels so rushed. Too many of those relationships in that last scene originated in the last (few) episodes it just didn't feel believable enough. It could have been better, but it was satisfying nonetheless.
Not a fan of how the Eric and Pam storyline was wrapped up right at the end. I would've preferred it if they'd have gotten at least some slight moral improvement or just moved away from Fangtasia. For two people with loads of money Fangtasia just seems ridiculous. And I think Sarah Newlin as a cuckoo spokeswoman would have been hilarious too. Eric and Pam just ended too evil/bad for me, I almost felt sorry for Sarah.
In general, I'd still give it a 4/5. It wasn't that bad, there were some beautiful moments, the ending was satisfyingly clear after a season of vague storylines and it just wraps things up well.
Positive:
- Adele
- Steve
- The car scene (that man has moves, hot damn)
- Pam's lines
- Satisfying wrap-up
- Some very good filming
Negative:
- Slightly boring at times
- Half of the town is dead/missing, which made me feel less connected to Bon Temps
- The Yakuza thing was resolved too easily
- Wrap-up was a little too predictable
4/5.
one image that is gonna stick with me from this episode is Eric in the car with those dead japanese guys in the back while nodding to the music. I actually lolled there :)
The wedding i just skipped...
@Mayonaisepot I was thinking exactly the same. I was just waitings for the veins to go away lol
For I moment I thought they were going for the "Bill will become human again and they live happily ever after" scenario, when Sookie could hear his thoughts. I'm glad they didn't.
When I look back at it, I wonder why on earth I watched the entire series. The first three seasons were okay, but after that...
Anyway, glad it's over.
Thank god is over!
1 star. The only thing that I like was Eric and Pam, new blood!
The rest was just awful.. the wedding, Bill being so pathetic, Jason having kids with that random girl, ...
For a series that became anything, any end looked good.
@Sandrosaurus Yes, even though it's only worth a 2 imo, I actually agree with everything you said!
