Princess Irulan suspects the Emporor’s involvement in the apparent killing off of the Atreides and feels betrayed. She sends her own spy to infiltrate House Harkonnen. At Feyd’s birthday, she visits their planet, Geddi-Prime, to see what’s going on for herself. Paul and Jessica’s thopter crashes in the desert and they find themselves among the Fremen. Jessica convinces Paul to go along with the Fremen belief that he is their expected messiah, but he seems to fit the story too well to just be pretending.
