At his Janda Town game house, Zoolie warns Ren against taking the Wraith through the Straits of Hedron with stories of ships disappearing. Ioz spots Scorian, a rival pirate who stole his treasure map once and now has the treasure. Ren breaks up a fight before it happens, but Garen, a sinister wizard, overhears the argument. Ioz bribes Niddler with a promise of Janda fruit to distract the guards on Scorian's ship so he can steal his treasure back. Scorian spots him and orders his crew to leave port, trapping Ioz aboard.
