While Future Trunks is waiting for Bulma to finish the repairs on the Time Capsule, Goku heads off to King Kai's planet to train after Beerus and Whis refused while both being curious about the sense of familiarity from Goku Black's energy. Future Trunks then notices Mai and recognizes her as the past version of the Mai he knew, revealing how Future Mai was a leader of Earth's resistance movement who died fighting to protect the planet. He also mentions Black's ultimate goal is eliminating everything he considers a inferior being. Meanwhile, excited from facing Goku, Black seeks to fight him again to become more accustomed to his body.
