Tom Lewis is murdered on his boat, five miles out at sea. His boat-for-hire business partner Sophie and their current clients Lucy, Hema, and Rachel are all questioned. All the suspects alibi each other, but Lucy also tells Humphrey that she witnessed Tom make a secret phone call and place cash into a moneybag. Humphrey discovers a strange button on the boat, which ultimately leads the team far away from home.
