Willem learns that Chtholly and the others are Fairies and the weapons used in the battle against the Beasts. In recognizing the enormous fate resting on these young girls' shoulders who disregard their own lives, he remembers his past. Chtholly asks Willem to listen to her final request.
"If I were going to die in five days, would you be a little nicer to me?"
