In 1991 Panorama investigated the rise of racist violence in the UK and the role of the openly racist British National Party.
Formed after a split with the National Front in the 1980s, the British National Party continued to follow an openly racist agenda advocating involuntary repatriation of non-whites. The programme found their policies and their presence inflaming racial tensions in the east end of London.
