Dave struggles with the boss's nephew, Young Hardwicke, who is studying Engineering. He more-or-less belittles Dave with his vast knowledge. Lil arrives at the pub to tell Bert about 'his letter' and Maggie is furious to find out Bert was hiding the fact that he was married. Christine from Burrabri, arrives at the pub looking for work.
