Leading film critics discuss the life and career of Huddersfield-born James Mason, who graduated from Cambridge University in the early 1930s before making his name as a leading man in British cinema. He then left for America where he became one of Hollywood's biggest stars, taking lead roles in films including The Desert Fox, A Star Is Born, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Lolita, North by Northwest, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Julius Caesar, Georgy Girl, The Boys from Brazil, The Verdict and Salem's Lot.
